I attended the two year course at the Bridge Theatre Training Company. And I loved it. It was definitely the better choice for me out of the two courses. I learnt so much in 2 years with the advantage of working with professional teachers working in the industry. Before I began the course I had lost all confidence in myself as a performer but through the years at the Bridge the company helped me to rebuild what I thought I had lost and gave me the skills to go out into the industry with confidence and be proud of the work I produce. The Bridge becomes a family with teachers and fellow classmates there to help.

I made great friends and met some amazing people and gained loads of experience – what more could you need.

I did have a great time at the Bridge, and it didn’t cost me the Earth. I met a lot of people, all ages all walks of life. The Bridge instills in you that you are a professional actor from the moment you start. There is emphasis that the course is not about ticking boxes, you are aware of your own development and tutorials are there to discuss that with your tutors, but in class you just do. I greatly improved in my time there, and understand the tools that any actor needs. Like most things if you put the time in you will get out of it what you intend.

I have recently graduated from the One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Acting and can honestly say that I am a far better Actor after just one year of high quality training and personal input from the staff at the Bridge Theatre Company.

The style of teaching is very personal and tailored as much as it can be for the individual, with small classes (14 in my year) and plenty of one-on-one tutor sessions available to strengthen areas that you are struggling with.

Other tutors from inside the industry work regularly at the Bridge – giving good insight into what real life as a jobbing actor is like, and providing firm teaching in areas such as Meisner, Handling Text, Voice, Movement among many others.

I was hesitant to apply to the Bridge. However, I attended the audition day/workshop and was so impressed by the standard of teaching – specifically from Mark Akrill, one of the principal members of staff, that I accepted the place as soon as it was offered. My main thoughts behind accepting were these:

“If this is what he (Mark) can get out of me in 20 minutes, imagine what I’ll be like after a year of input of this calibre.”

I have not been disappointed. I would whole-heartedly recommend the Bridge Theatre Training Company to any aspiring actor, no matter your age, experience or nationality. They excel in helping you to be the best YOU that you can be.

The Bridge Theatre Training Company is exactly that. A company. I left with a real sense of belonging and knowing you have their support and advice even after you graduate is such a positive feeling.

The Course was exactly what I needed. The audition day was so different to any other. You felt like an individual and the energy and passion that went in to it was fantastic. This carried on throughout the length of the course.

You get out what you put in and if you are dedicated, passionate and hard working then this is the place for you as you will get so much out of it.

The passion and dedication from The Bridge is priceless.

Training at The Bridge is the best move I’ve made in life. The training and the tutors are class and I’ve graduated feeling confident in my ability to make it in the industry and I’m a million times more confident as a person. The continued support that The Bridge give to their students is also brilliant, they are there long after graduation for help and advice on auditions or even for just a cuppa. The Bridge is the place to be!

Taking the 2 year professional acting course at The Bridge Theatre Training Company is 100% the best choice I have ever made.

In just 2 years, I’ve seen every single Company member flourish into a strong, confident performer able to walk into any audition and give a great performance.
There is also a popular Postgraduate course which will stretch and push you to be ready to a professional standard in just one year.

The social aspect of The Bridge is fantastic too. Friday nights are always fun and have provided the perfect setting for many a great and often crazy night. There is definitely a feeling of fun and unity among the students and even the ex-Bridgies who frequently return to offer their support and advice from professional experiences.

I’m further inspired from speaking to industry representatives. It is clear from their praise and accounts of working with ex-Bridgies that The Bridge Theatre Training Company is continuing to make a positive impact. Especially the surprise many casting agents have expressed from seeing such a diversity of ethnicities and personalities throughout the Company.

It really is inspiring just how much passion and drive each teacher has to help every student stretch and grow into the best performer they can be.

Their dedication is reflected in the consistently professional productions and the achievements of current and ex-students.

Despite graduation just 2 weeks away and being faced with all the uncertainties that every actor faces in this industry, I feel confident that my 2 years at The Bridge has given me all the skills that I need to achieve my goals.

In conclusion, if you are serious about becoming a professional performer, and are prepared to push yourself, sweat, cry, ache, laugh and really put yourself to the test, The Bridge Theatre Training Company is a must!

The Two Year Professional Acting Course was good value for money. Especially compared to some prices other theatre companies charge for the same level of teaching/training to its students.

The Bridge was and is everything I wanted from a Drama School. Their Teaching is second to none and at a Low cost.

They are also supportive to their actors, helping them through personal issues or in my case, holding a place on the course for me when I fell ill and had to leave for a year. Now I’m graduated can pop back for help in preparing for auditions.

I’ve gained great training and great friends from my time there. You cannot find a better place to train!

Not only do you get excellent training you also obtain sound advice on other matters i.e.:- tax, Equity, etc on top of that you have their support long after you have left!
All together – well worth every penny and I’ve worked pretty much since I left!!!

I regard this course as a significant moment in my life. I had the best time of my life and learned so much about this industry and how committed you need to be. It gave me the tools to go into any audition or performance with confidence and showed me how to adapt to the play that I am going for, staying flexible to the client’s expectations. I have a huge understanding of text now and that’s all down to MARK AKRILL, JUDITH POLLARD AND TONY LAW. Fantastic school and it keeps improving. I have been working consistently in the industry since graduating. Big THANK YOU TO THE BRIDGE THEATRE TRAINING COMPANY.

I graduated from The Bridge Theatre Training Company in July 2005. I had an absolutely brilliant year. The staff were all extremely dedicated. The timetable was comprehensive and I feel I was given all the skills required to be launched on the acting world – different acting techniques, e.g.Stanislavski/Meisner, clown, movement, singing, dance (jazz, tap, tango, salsa, period)and animal. There were also plenty of chances to perform, culminating in a showcase at the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End. I would thoroughly recommend The Bridge Theatre Training Company to anyone wishing to take up acting as a career.
