Marvin Morgan, Graduate 2010
We offer two full-time courses for a career in professional acting:
Two Year Professional Acting Course
An intensive training for a professional acting career. The minimum age is 18 and there is no upper age limit.
One Year Post Graduate / Post Experience Acting Course
Training for a professional acting career for those who already have a degree (not necessarily in Drama) or for those who have Drama or related experience. The minimum age is 21 at the beginning of the course and there is no upper age limit. Post Graduate students condense their studies into a shorter period and begin individual programmes relating to their specific needs in voice, movement and auditioning at an early stage. Career-related studies are also brought forward in this way to prepare you for entry into the profession.
Both courses include comprehensive career guidance and a graduating season of public productions in London theatres with a West End showcase at the Criterion Theatre in front of agents, directors and casting directors.
Attendance
Classes and rehearsals run 9:00am to 6:00pm from Monday to Friday and rehearsals may extend into the evening. Some weekend work will be necessary, especially when there are forthcoming productions. However, the company will make sure you have the time to support yourself by working outside college hours.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. Entry is by audition, and candidates must not only have acting ability but also the level of commitment necessary to become a professional actor.
The Year
Divided into three terms totalling approximately 33 weeks from September to July, with breaks for half-term, Christmas, Easter and Summer.
Qualifications Awarded
Successful students are awarded the Professional Acting Diploma and the Academy of Performance Combat Fight Performance Certificate.
Progression
Once you graduate from the course, we’ll continue to work with you, providing everything from advice on contracts to help preparing you for auditions, from contacts in the industry to opportunities to work with us in a professional context.
