It’s an exciting time at The Bridge! Here’s some of the things we’ll be getting up to this academic year:

  • This year is The Bridge’s 25th anniversary! To celebrate we’ll be putting on events and working with a number of industry figures to make it a special year. For the anniversary we’ll also be forming a new band to play as part of our live productions in London theatres.
  • This year we’ll be working with film makers to help produce showreels for students’ career launches. We’ll also cover all the techniques they’ll need for film, television, commercials, online media, self taping and a whole battery of skills that’ll give people a head start in the modern industry.
  • We’re delighted to continue our residency at The Academy Studios – there’s always so much going on – from auditions for shows to rehearsals for burlesque, standup and concerts. It’s an inspiring atmosphere and gives everyone the chance to meet other artists. This year we are happy to announce that there will be Company Days at the Irish Centre in Camden Square, rehearsing in the large Presidential Suite, preparing productions and taking part in exciting new workshops.
  • We’ll be welcoming back special guest tutors. Liz Ranken, movement director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and groundbreaking Shared Experience and founder member of renowned physical theatre company DV8 will be returning to work with us on a new project. Gari Jones who worked with and directed Harold Pinter as an associate artist will be here to explore the playwright’s drama in more depth and to prepare students for castings in the industry. Bridge graduate and up and coming writer, Hannah Khalil, last year workshopped with us her stunning play, Scar Test, which premiered at the Soho theatre. We’re inviting her back to explore her new work with the company and we’ll be welcoming agent Yvonne l’Anson who’ll be sharing her extensive knowledge of the industry and preparing students for a life as a working actor.
