During the clearing season it can be a stressful scramble to find a last minute place for the new academic year that starts each Autumn. Drama school clearing can be stressful too, but at The Bridge Theatre Training Company, we accept applications right up until the start of term and even accept late applications once the course has started. As an independent training establishment, we are outside the UCAS system which makes things less complicated. No formal qualifications are required to join but you will need to pass the audition process.
Applications are still open for the upcoming academic year starting September 2024!
Clearing is the process colleges and universities use to fill the remaining places on their courses. Students coming straight out of school often need to make last minute decisions based on A Level results. Clearing helps provide extra options if the requirements of a student’s offer was not met and they need to look elsewhere before the start of the new academic year.
Clearing for drama schools can work a bit differently as grades are not usually an issue. Places for drama schools are typically issued after an audition process. However, like other schools and colleges, drama schools will have places to fill and they’ll be looking to accommodate extra students who are in turn looking for drama courses that are still accepting late applications.
The new academic year starts on 23rd September 2024. However, even after the new term has started, we do still accept late entries to our drama courses so never feel like it’s too late to apply! If you do have a late start to the course we’ll make sure to bring you up to speed on everything you’ve missed so far.
Our last audition this year is on 2nd September but we still accept online auditions after that. You may still be invited in to meet the directors in person before being offered a place.
Submit an application or get in touch with us if you have any concerns or questions. We’ll be happy to talk you through the application process.
“I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Bridge. There was so much warmth and care. It was a big family but at the same time I felt really valued as an individual and that my development as an actor really mattered. The teaching was excellent and I learnt SO much. My time at the Bridge was totally transformational and amazing”
